Fred Fuchs
Founder, chief executive officer and resident rocket scientist
Fred Fuchs founded FireSabre Consulting in 2006, and the company quickly become known for its talent and experience in building strong interactive educational projects. FireSabre helped create a project for New York-based Global Kids which was recognized in WIRED magazine and was nominated for an Annenberg Foundation Public Diplomacy Award. This project pioneered special techniques and standards that became the benchmark for other educational projects in virtual worlds. FireSabre's Suffern Project, which represented the first junior high school project within Second LifeĀ® virtual world, won the 2007 Edublog Award ("the Eddie") for Best Educational Use of a Virtual World. FireSabre's more recent projects have included training simulations for the healthcare professions. Fred has designed specialized computer input devices for those with severe carpal tunnel syndrome, and training simulations for NASA astronauts at the International Space Station. Fred received his Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from University of Houston.
